Dr. Hatton qualified at Dundee Medical School, UK. He had a varied career in medicine before becoming a general practitioner, including volunteer work at the Cambodian Trust working with landmine victims and previous experience in emergency medicine in Australia.
Richard completed basic surgical training in general surgery in the North West before leaving to train in community medicine. He currently works for both the NHS and as a private GP for SameDayDoctor.
For the NHS, he runs a new team called ‘High Impact Primary Care’ service. It is a new collaborative approach in Manchester that enables holistic, intensive support for patients with complex social and medical problems at high risk of hospital attendance. This is a GP-led multi-disciplinary team of social workers, community nurses, pharmacists, and wellbeing advisers who can provide intensive support to these patients.
Dr. Hatton works in the Manchester SameDayDoctor private GP walk in clinic, which is open six days a week. Patients can walk in or call or email to book an appointment and obtain same day or next day results on blood and urine tests. The clinic is conveniently located near the Manchester City Centre off Deansgate.
