Meningitis ACWY for Hajj

A certificate of vaccination with Meningitis ACWY vaccination is required for all adults and children over the age of 2 years arriving for the purpose of Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage. Vaccination should be at least 3 weeks before travel. Meningitis W in teenagers

Samedaydoctor can offer meningitis vaccines for teenagers, children and babies against Meningitis W, which has seen a steep risk recently, with a higher than average death rate. Meningitis W is included in the Meningitis ACWY vaccine and samedaydoctor uses the more protective ‘conjugated’ version of the vaccine called Menveo to give the highest possible immunity. A single dose is needed for those over the age of 1 year to give up to 5 years protection. The vaccine can be given from 2 months of age and is particularly indicated for babies and teenagers.

Meningitis B in children

Meningitis B which remains the most common cause of Bacterial Meningitis  and a Meningitis B vaccine has, after many years of difficulties, now been developed. The number of doses depends on the age it is given. It is available from birth and is particularly recommended for babies and teenagers.
