SameDayDoctor was interviewed by Mike Graham on Talk Radio today about the long NHS waiting lists. We explained that the waiting lists are a direct consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, when all other work was put on hold for 18 months. This has left a long queue of patients for more routine procedures such as hip surgery, but there appears also to have been a delay in treating more serious conditions and diagnosing some cancers.
We have seen a significant number of patients who have been directly affected by this delay, and we have tried to help by allowing access to diagnostic procedures to speed up the management of both serious and less serious conditions. SameDayDoctor has never closed its doors during the pandemic, and we have remained open for all types of consultations with full COVID-secure premises and PPE equipment. All of our staff are fully vaccinated, and there have been no examples of patients catching COVID on our premises or from one of our team members.
All of our procedures are in place for the future as we move out of the pandemic; we are still carrying out PCR tests for diagnosis and travel purposes.
